Personality
Despite being a twin, Kouichi does not act the same as Kouji. Kouichi is not cold like Kouji used to be, but instead shy and self-conscious. Even in the Digital World it takes time before Kouichi could feel comfortable around Kouji.
Being as sky as he is, Kouichi does not immediately become "a part" of the group. In the first couple of episodes he keeps his distance from everyone. He wondered why they were nice to him even though he tried to kill them. He didn't understand why no one was blaming him, even he could not forgive himself for doing such things. Still, instead of just wallowing in his confusion he tries to make up for what he did to everyone in the past. He tries to go fight Cherubimon himself, though no one would let him go alone. Even when KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon were fighting Cherubimon he felt that he should be the one fighting. He also saves everyone's lives on several occasions; he destroyed the fake Cherubimon when no one else could, he freed everyone from the Phantomon, and helps to defeat IceDevimon when Takuya and Kouji's D-Scanners were frozen. In the end he even sacrifices himself to protect them from Lucemon. |
